Terraced gardens up to 48.5sq m in size will feature in an Ivanhoe apartment project embracing the suburb’s leafy reputation.

Developer Samma Property Group is describing the 12 homes with a terrace as having backyards in the sky.

Garden greenery overseen by MALA Studio will take shape around the building. This includes on balconies and a lush podium courtyard designed for residents to enjoy a book or walk the dog without leaving their building.

A 10th-floor residents’ area includes an outdoor cinema and a spa area with more plantings, as well as barbecues, a kitchen and bookable lounge spaces.

Samma senior development manager Benjamin Cribb said more than 50 per cent of the project’s first stage had sold, and buyers had appreciated a range of its features.

“A lot of the feedback we are getting is that the buyers like the Ivanhoe address and the amenity that comes with that, and they like the architectural and the landscape design,” Mr Cribb said.

The first stage of Samma Place has been named Linden for the striking deciduous trees that will appear among the property’s landscaping. It will feature 134 apartments all up, with the building designed by award-winning architect Peddle Thorp.

Views range from the CBD to distant green mountains, including the Dandenong Ranges and Mt Macedon.

Construction will start this month and is due to finish early in 2023.

One-bedroom apartments cost $435,000, two-bedroom homes are priced from $610,000-$780,000 and three-bedroom floorplans range from $1m-$1.325m.
