The gold shovels were out again last Friday at Samma’s ground-breaking ceremony for Linden at Samma Place, Ivanhoe.
Addressing a large audience of VIP guests and business partners, our Managing Director, Simon Abdelmalak, recalled just how far Samma has progressed.
Back in the 90s, a memorable business decision was made. It was whether the fledgling company, building just two townhouses at the time, should invest in a fax machine and in one of the original mobile phones, with an eye-watering $7-per-minute call rate.
The decision to buy both devices clearly paid off. Today, 30 years and 40 luxury developments later, Samma has more than $2 billion in completed and planned sales and is starting construction on what will be the landmark luxury apartment address in leafy Ivanhoe.
Linden will comprise 134 new luxury residences and will be the first building to be completed at Samma Place – a distinctive, multi-stage, master-planned development featuring cascading garden terraces.
It will also be the first Samma development to be built by acclaimed builder, Buxton Construction. Stephen Baker, MD of Buxton Construction, attended the ceremony with his senior team and spoke about the remarkable joint opportunities ahead.
Ben Cribb, Senior Development Manager at Samma, also made a speech – highlighting the desirability of the location, and of life in Ivanhoe, and revealed that he himself decided to move to Ivanhoe, along with his family.
Samma Place is set to be the finest apartment development in Ivanhoe and it will contribute to the primary aim of Samma Property Group – that of improving the quality of life in the city.
As Simon Abdelmalak noted, the driving force behind Samma is the desire to create thriving communities. Outstanding location, design, build quality and amenities are all means to that end.
Like Samma’s original fax machine and brick-like 90s mobile phone, Samma developments are designed to serve a purpose. Unlike fax machines and mobile phones, however, they will withstand the test of time.
